Overview
Restaurant Supervisors coordinate and manage all aspects of the front-of-house guest experience during a shift.
Responsibilities
Level One
Responsibilities of Gold Key|PHR Supervisors:
- Understand the needs of the shift, deploy resources, and communicate the plan to staff to ensure timely delivery of products and services according to department standards.
- Utilize the department’s Job Skill Handbooks to coach and train associates consistently.
- Use approved tools and checklists to set daily expectations and ensure task completion.
- Provide daily motivation and encouragement to foster teamwork and excellent service.
- Monitor daily time and attendance, adjusting as needed to meet labor budgets.
- Follow Service Recovery guidelines to resolve guest concerns satisfactorily and escalate when necessary.
- Promote Gold Key/PHR’s service culture, "The Keys to Making it Right," focusing on guest satisfaction.
- Inspect assigned areas regularly to ensure standards, cleanliness, environment, and guest experience are maintained, taking corrective actions when needed.
- Manage safety and security procedures proactively to prevent accidents and ensure a healthy environment.
- Ensure compliance with all training requirements, including new hire, certification, and re-certification.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including assigning staff duties, interacting courteously with guests and staff, greeting guests, and handling requests promptly.
- Prepare pre-shift reports, conduct daily meetings, and record work data and reports.
- Investigate complaints and take corrective actions during guest interactions.
- Maintain knowledge of hotel/franchise standards and techniques.
- Complete safety training and review management reports regularly.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and oversee special projects.
- Ensure QA standards are met and assist with inventory management as needed.
- Train and supervise staff, enforce uniform standards, and report safety issues.
- Manage outlet budgets to maximize revenue and control expenses.
- Implement company programs and ensure compliance with SOPs, safety, and regulations, taking ownership of shifts.
- Respond to customer trends and issues to enhance guest experience and sales.
- Promote a safe workplace, monitor sanitation, and protect assets.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Skills: Excellent English communication, prior supervisory experience preferred, computer skills, ability to multi-task, positive attitude, leadership, problem-solving, flexibility, team building.
Education: More than two years post-high school education; a four-year degree is preferred.
Experience: Restaurant supervisory or equivalent experience, knowledge of hospitality principles, supervisory/management communication skills, proficiency with relevant software.
