Job summary

Denny's is seeking a Service Assistant to help maintain the dining room and kitchen areas, ensuring tables, surfaces, and service zones are clean and stocked during shifts. You will support guest service by keeping front and back of house organized, safe, and welcoming at all times.

Reporting to the General Manager and Restaurant Manager, you will help uphold brand standards, handle routine tasks, and collaborate with the team to deliver timely guest service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a team environment
• Must be able to pass all required tests and training requirements
• Flexible schedule including holidays, nights and weekends
• Excellent guest service skills
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for 4–8 hours
• Adheres to brand standards and safety policies

Responsibilities

• Buses, cleans, and resets tables
• Checks restrooms and hand washing stations every half hour for cleanliness and supplies
• Maintains exterior curb appeal and keeps exterior and parking lot clean
• Keeps restaurant interior clean, safe and inviting for guests and employees
• Regularly cleans and inspects dish machine and maintains chemical levels
• Properly sorts and washes dishware and replenishes kitchen and service areas
• Immediately cleans spills and broken glasses and dishes
• Addresses complaints and requests promptly and notifies supervisor
• Assists with stocking deliveries; rotates perishable stock
• Performs side work and other deep cleaning duties as assigned
• Assists others without being asked
• Follows brand standards and policies
• Provides prompt and courteous service to guests and team members
• Completes all other tasks and duties as assigned
