Job Summary:

Take food and beverage orders and efficiently deliver items to dining room guests. Provide continual service for the duration of the guests’ visit including cleaning & clearing the table and service items. Issue guest checks and collect payment at the conclusion of the service. Set up and break down dining spaces and events.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to location appearance guidelines.
2. Act with a sense of urgency and professionalism.
3. Employ good safety and sanitation practices.
4. Follow responsible alcohol service policies.
5. Understand the importance of maintaining equipment and execute accordingly.
6. Ensure that the dining room is properly cleaned and set up prior to and after the service period; keep area clean and neat during service while meeting established sanitation standards.
7. Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room; take food and beverages orders in an efficient manner, following established steps of service.
8. Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients. Advise guests on appropriate combinations of food and drinks when requested; accommodate reasonable requests and note preferences. Demonstrate knowledge of specialized diets and allergens.
9. Establish rapport with guests and understand suggestive and upselling techniques.
10. Communicate directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure that orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
11. Exhibit exceptional communication skills and demonstrate the ability to get along well with others. Remain flexible and patient when communicating with guests and staff.
12. Present & collect guest checks and follow proper payment procedures.
13. Maintain a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information that is shared.
14. Promptly address complaints or issues; relay relevant information or complaints directly to supervisor.
15. Perform post event product inventory and restock as needed.
16. Operate a variety of equipment, including fire extinguishers, beverage machines, food merchandisers, production and storage equipment.
17. Work in other departments to perform job duties during special events.
18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Job Duties:

1. Stand for long periods of time and be able to actively engage physically with guests.
2. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
3. React with physical and mental alertness in emergency situations.
4. Demonstrate physical stamina required to be mobile for long periods.
5. Lift/move materials and equipment up to 50 pounds.
6. Move from sitting to standing position easily and quickly.

Requirements:

1. 2 years’ experience in the hospitality industry.
2. Willingness to learn and grow.
3. An outgoing personality is preferred.
4. Ability to interact with high profile guests and remain professional and dedicated to providing an exceptional experience.
5. The ability to communicate effectively by writing, speaking and comprehending English.
6. The ability to problem solve and make decisions with little guidance.
