Hotel:

Greenville Embassy Suites 670 Verdae Blvd Greenville, SC 29607

Position: Restaurant Server (Full-time)

Introduction:

Profile:

Reports To: Executive Chef, Banquet Manager, or All Purpose Manager

Equipment: Uniform

Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Restaurant Server is to provide guests with an excellent restaurant experience.

Work Performed:

The Restaurant Server will be responsible for:

  • Scheduling dining reservations and arranging parties or special services;
  • Ensuring prompt and courteous service to guests;
  • Answering telephone calls and processing phone orders;
  • Greeting guests, escorting them to tables, providing menus, and answering dining-related questions; suggesting food and beverage items;
  • Taking food and beverage orders, relaying them to the kitchen, and serving food to guests;
  • Coordinating amenity delivery requests with the kitchen;
  • Monitoring tables in assigned sections to ensure all guests are served;
  • Addressing guest complaints;
  • Collecting and processing guest payments;
  • Verifying sales and clearing the cash register at the end of shifts;
  • Reporting tips properly for tax purposes;
  • Clearing dirty table settings and preparing tables for resetting;
  • Maintaining stock and cleanliness of stations, including silverware, linens, and condiments;
  • Inspecting dining room stations for neatness and cleanliness;
  • Assisting service staff as needed to serve guests efficiently;
  • Following all safety and security policies, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions;
  • Performing any other duties necessary to fulfill the primary purpose of the role.

Qualifications:

Preferred Prior Experience: Six (6) months of customer service, restaurant, or cashier experience

Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Required Licenses/Certifications: Food Safety Training certification (or to be certified within 60 days of employment); Alcohol Awareness certification (or within 60 days)

Preferred Technology: Experience with Micros operating system

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs;
  • Ability to bend and squat repeatedly;
  • Ability to walk and stand for the duration of scheduled shifts.

Other Requirements: Flexibility to work day, early morning, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.
