Job Description

Reports To: Restaurant Managers, Food & Beverage Director

General Purpose: The Restaurant Server is an engaging ambassador for the restaurant, intuiting guest needs, making recommendations, and selling menu items to enhance guest experience. The role requires accuracy, efficiency, and a focus on exceeding guest expectations.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Report to work on time and ready for scheduled shifts.
• Follow all steps of service.
• Know descriptions and ingredients of all menu items.
• Know all wines by the glass and at least five wines in each category at varying price points and styles.
• Know drinks' names, ingredients, preparation methods, appropriate glassware, and garnishes.
• Understand specialty beverages such as single malt scotches, cognacs, and beers.
• Increase sales by effectively selling menu items.
• Serve beverages and food cheerfully and efficiently.
• Keep the service station stocked.
• Complete all assigned side work.
• Maintain a positive attitude with co-workers and guests.
• Provide prompt, accurate reports of income received during shifts.
• Maintain a clean and orderly appearance.
• Assist with tasks as assigned by supervisors.
• Follow all sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Flexible hours (nights, weekends).
• Responsible, dependable, punctual.
• Basic math skills.
• Strong communication skills in English.
• Professional appearance.
• Enthusiasm for 21c.
• Familiarity with POS systems.
• Pass a background check.

Education/Formal Training:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in upscale dining preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to carry a full tray comfortably.
• Stand and walk for long periods.
• Lift at least 50 pounds.
