Job summary

Hyatt Valencia is seeking a friendly Restaurant Server to provide excellent dining service and expert beverage and menu recommendations at Hyatt Valencia in California. The role includes greeting guests, presenting menus, taking orders, and ensuring accurate and timely service during each meal.

A TIPS and Food Safety certification are required, with a background check prior to employment. This is a part-time position located at Hyatt Valencia.

Responsibilities

• Serve ice water and coffee upon greeting the table.
• Present menu to diner, suggesting dinner courses and wines, and answering questions about food preparation.
• Write or memorize orders and relay them to kitchen or bar, serving courses accordingly.
• Garnish and decorate dishes before serving to guests.
• Observe diners and fulfill additional requests, ensuring diners are satisfied and meal ends gracefully.
• Total bill and process payment or refer to cashier for payment processing.

The Restaurant Server will serve meals to guests in accordance with established etiquette standards, ensuring a polished and professional dining experience.

Responsibilities

• Serves ice water and/or coffee upon greeting the table.
• Presents menu to diner, suggesting dinner courses, appropriate wines, and answering questions regarding food preparation.
• Writes order on check or memorizes it.
• Relays order to kitchen or bar and serves courses from kitchen and service bars.
• Garnishes and decorates dishes preparatory to serving.
• Serves patrons from dish at table on occasion.
• Observes diners to fulfill any additional request and to perceive when meal has been completed.
• Totals bill and accepts payment or refers patron to cashier.
• Replenishes supplies and prepares for the next meal.
• Takes the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner
• Other duties as assigned by the leader

Education and Experience

• HS Diploma or equivalent

Licenses/Certifications

• Must have TIPS and Food Safety certification

CA Pay Range: $16.90 per hour
