Job Purpose

Responsible for providing professional and friendly service to guests at The IowaStater Restaurant. To enthusiastically deliver first‑class service and hospitality that exceeds guest expectations. Consistently delivering The GATE-way, from when the first guest arrives to when the last guest leaves.

Essential Functions

• Deliver hospitality to guests in a warm and friendly manner.
• Accurately and efficiently take orders from guests and enter into MICROS system.
• Anticipate guests needs.
• Engage guests in feedback on their meal and service.
• Promote The IowaStater Restaurant and all of its products and services.
• Deliver the GATEway service standards and exemplify Gateway Values.
• Set up and execute private parties and reservations.
• Effective communication between front of house and back of house.
• Exhibit strong teamwork with all hotel staff.
• Adhere to all Health and Safety Standards at all times.
• Complete weekly and daily cleaning duties.
• Maximize productivity by working efficiently and in a timely manner.
• Maintain inherent attention to detail.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Customer service or previous waiting experience preferred.
• Able to bend, climb stairs, and lift/transport 25-50 lbs.
• Ability to deliver first class customer service.
• Speaking skills, ability to communicate with guests, staff, and management accurately and effectively.
• Strong organizational and decision‑making skills.
• Strong customer service recovery skills.
• Complete IPACT training upon hiring.
