Base pay range

$15.00/hr - $17.00/hr

For 53 years, NOC has led the outdoor industry, taking more guests whitewater rafting and teaching more paddlers than any other outdoor recreation company. NOC also provides top-quality aerial and trail-based adventures, wilderness medicine, as well as retail services, foodservice, lodging, and trip planning. NOC offers career opportunities in beautiful locations, with growth potential and a passion for outdoor recreation.

This position starts in May and ends in September 2025, with a possibility of extension beyond September.

Job Summary

Join our Food & Beverage team in Nantahala Gorge! NOC is hiring Restaurant Prep Cooks for River's End Restaurant. Applicants must be 18 or older.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of the kitchen
  • Ensure food quality and consistency
  • Work as part of a team, follow directions, and work efficiently towards goals
  • Support teammates and assist other Food and Beverage team members as needed
  • Perform kitchen duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required:

  • Understanding of safe food handling, health code standards, and cleanliness
  • Ability to work as a team player, follow directions, and work independently
  • Knowledge of restaurant operations flow
  • Appropriate attire for back of house and NOC standards
  • Follow standards, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to take direction and initiative

Preferred:

  • Previous kitchen experience (preferred but not required)
  • ServSafe certification (preferred but not required)
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Comfortable working on feet for long periods
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
