Job summary

GF Hotels & Resorts is seeking a motivated food prep worker in Colorado Springs to stock, measure, and prepare condiments, slice meats, and assist the chef in daily kitchen tasks. You will maintain a clean prep area, follow safety protocols, and read English recipes and labels.

The role supports the kitchen during busy periods, with weekend availability preferred. Some experience and an AA degree or equivalent are welcome but not required, and the position offers an hourly wage of $17–$18.

Qualifications

  • Read and comprehend recipes, labels, and meal charts written in English
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, pull heavy items, and stand for your entire shift
  • Flexibility to work weekend hours and holidays if necessary, as well as some extended hours
  • Have some experience prepping food and the ability to work under the head chef/cook with minor supervision

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a clean, organized prep area and workstation at all times, and sanitize equipment after each shift or when we close
  • Use correct amounts of condiments, wash fruits and vegetables to be peeled, diced, and sliced, slice meats, and mix sauces
  • Perform other basic cooking duties as necessary, such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups, reducing sauces, and assisting other cooks in the kitchen if needed
  • Follow instructions for recipes. Read meal charts and labels in English and use the measuring tools correctly
  • Observe all company-required food safety guidelines and protocols in the areas where food is prepared and kitchen equipment is utilized

Job description

We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen, prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare, and measure condiments, and slice and dice food. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols. Good organizational skills, the ability to take directions well, and the ability to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools are required. Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you!

Compensation:

$17 - $18 hourly
