Description

Porters perform a variety of tasks to ensure businesses operate in a clean and safe environment. Similar to custodians and janitors, porters are responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of various buildings. Their duties include picking up trash, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and using industrial cleaning equipment to clean floors, as well as cleaning and stocking bathrooms.

Required Qualifications

Experience:

• 0-6 months of experience in a general industry setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain good working relationships with management and co-workers.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.

Knowledge:

• Basic knowledge of the organization and its functions.
• Understanding of working practices, procedures, and techniques.

Education:

• High school diploma/GED, equivalent work experience, or currently attending high school or educational programs such as homeschooling or vocational training.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to manually lift and move up to 50 lbs frequently.
• Ability to stand throughout the entire shift.
• Capability to reach, bend, stoop, lift, shake, stir, pour, carry, and push frequently.
• Ability to read orders on tickets, menu boards, receipts, etc.
• Frequent contact with water, cleaning solutions, and various food products, requiring proper sanitation and safety measures.
• Frequent hand washing.

Other Requirements:

• Availability to work based on mutual agreement between the team member and the company, considering restaurant needs.
• Ability to work overtime occasionally.
