Job summary

Summit Hospitality Group is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in daily restaurant operations in Kansas City, Missouri. You will help oversee all areas of the restaurant, uphold service standards, control costs, and ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include staffing, scheduling, training, interviewing hourly employees, and enforcing sanitation and safety regulations. The role requires 2+ years in restaurant assistant management and strong leadership and

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience as an assistant manager in a restaurant.
• Proficient in restaurant operations including food planning, purchasing, sanitation, security, and recordkeeping.
• Accurate and swift in handling emergencies and problem solving.
• Familiar with industry best practices.
• Working knowledge of computer software (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS).
• BS degree in hotel/restaurant management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant and make guest-service decisions.
• Control costs by adhering to standards for food, beverages, supplies, utilities, and labor.
• Enforce sanitation and safety, ensure compliance with laws and policies.
• Maintain professional image and appearance standards.
• Ensure positive guest service and address complaints to win repeat visits.
• Provide direction to employees on operational issues.
• Interview hourly staff and assist in hiring, supervising, development, and HR actions.
• Conduct orientation and training of new hires.
• Plan staffing needs and prepare schedules, ensure shifts are covered.
