Job summary

The Mather in Tysons is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to oversee daily service operations on-site at 7929 Westpark Drive, Tysons, VA. This full-time role reports to the Restaurant Manager and collaborates with the executive chef to deliver resident-focused dining.

Ideal candidates will have supervisory experience, food-service credentials (BASSET/ServSafe), and strong English proficiency, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; progressive experience in an upscale restaurant or Life Plan Community.
• Computer fluency includes Windows, Excel, Word, and Outlook; familiarity with POS systems and reservation platforms.
• BASSET certification and ServSafe Manager certification are required/preferred; English proficiency is required.

Responsibilities

• Support daily service operations, guest service, and budget control.
• Manage reservations, server sections, guest flow, and meal-period coverage.
• Inspect workstations and enforce food quality, cleanliness, sanitation, and service standards.
• Coordinate with Restaurant Manager and Executive Chef; supervise staff and training.
• Track billing information and support budget compliance.
• Provide coaching, orientation, and performance feedback to team.
