Job description

This is a dual role as a restaurant manager and bartender! The ideal candidate will have strong management skills and experience, with experience in serving and bartending. This role will primarily work at The Pear in West Chester, PA. Stay Hungry Hospitality—the team behind Sovana Bistro in Kennett Square and The Pear in West Chester is seeking a talented, service-driven leader to join our core management team. This is a dual position combining hands-on bartending with front-of-house restaurant management, with the primary focus at The Pear, our vibrant new concept in West Chester. You’ll be joining an established team of managers who help oversee operations across both restaurants under the Stay Hungry Hospitality umbrella. The role rotates between managing floor operations and bartending, earning tips and building guest connections, depending on the shift and needs of the business. You'll lead, train, and inspire front-of-house staff, manage inventory and scheduling, and work directly with ownership to uphold the Sovana Bistro brand. You'll also contribute directly to the guest experience by working select shifts behind the bar. Flexibility is key: while your home base will be The Pear, you may be asked to support occasional shifts at Sovana Bistro as needed. Compensation: • Base Salary: $55,000 • Expected yearly earnings with tips: $100,000+ • Paid Time Off Responsibilities: • Serve as a working leader on the floor—managing service, coaching staff, and ensuring hospitality excellence • Train, lead, and mentor front-of-house staff, including servers, hosts, and bartenders • Maintain a strong presence during service, interacting with guests and modeling outstanding hospitality • Manage scheduling, labor costs, and staff performance • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, and maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and concerns with professionalism and care • Bartend on scheduled shifts, creating memorable guest experiences and contributing directly to tip earnings • Collaborate with kitchen leadership to coordinate service flow and maintain high culinary standards • Collaborate with fellow managers and ownership to meet business goals • Assist with ordering, inventory, and vendor relationships • Actively promote Stay Hungry Hospitality’s culture of excellence, warmth, and professionalism across both locations • Uphold Sovana’s brand, values, and customer experience standards at all times Qualifications: • 3+ years of proven experience as a restaurant manager, preferably in a fine dining or upscale casual setting • Bartending or serving experience required; strong cocktail and wine knowledge preferred • Demonstrated leadership and team development skills • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills • Strong organizational and time-management abilities • Experience with scheduling, budgeting, and cost control • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed • ServSafe or equivalent certification is a plus Compensation: $100,000+ OTE
