Job summary

Refuel Market is seeking a Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations at an assigned location. You will drive guest satisfaction, oversee staff, and ensure compliance with food safety standards, inventory controls, and cash handling.

You will report to the District Manager, QSR, work full-time with flexible hours including evenings and weekends, and travel up to 10% as required. This at-will position emphasizes teamwork and community focus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customers have great guest experience by keeping products hot, fresh and delicious.
• Manage and develop employees and ensure they are clean and neat in appearance.
• Ensure cleanliness of the property (restrooms, floors, kitchen, dining area, etc.).
• Enforce strict food safety standards.
• Handle customer complaints with District Manager escalation if unresolved.
• Rotate and store perishable products properly to minimize spoilage.
• Recruit, interview, and staff store to operate at budgeted hours without overtime.
• Control inventory to maintain shrink under 1.0% of sales.
• Complete daily close-out paperwork and end-of-day accounting by 8:00 am; conduct weekly cash audit.
• Follow Vendor Check In policy and count all merchandise received.
• Follow Employee Handbook policies.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure our customers have great guest experience, by ensuring our products are hot, fresh and delicious.
• Manage and develop employees in the restaurant and ensure they are clean and neat in appearance.
• Ensures cleanliness of the property (restrooms, floors, coolers, kitchen, front counter, back-office, dining area, fountain area, sidewalk entrance etc.)
• Ensures all employees are upholding strict food safety standards.
• Navigate customer complaints with grace and elevate complaints as necessary to the District Manager, QSR if unresolved.
• Ensure perishable products are properly rotated and stored to maintain freshness, avoid cross-contamination, and minimize spoilage.
• Actively recruit, interview, and staff store with the required number of employees to operate at budgeted hours without overtime or over-budget exceptions.
• Responsible for controlling inventory to maintain inventory shortage performance (at less than 1.0% short to merchandise sales).
• Compiles, inputs, reconciles, and balances each component of the daily close-out paperwork as well as completes end-of-the-day accounting by 8:00 am. Conduct cash audit weekly.
• Strictly follow and enforce the Vendor Check In policy and personally count all merchandise received into the store.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: An ideal candidate will have experience with or understanding of:

• Have the physical ability to perform all duties of a restaurant team member regularly.
• Food service/safety experience.
• Good leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

Education and Experience: An ideal candidate will have the following education and experience:

• Two years’ experience managing a quick-service restaurant.
• Valid driver’s license.
