Job description

Position: Line Cook

Join Lessing's Hospitality Group on the kitchen team at one of our premier restaurants!

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service
  2. Prepare a variety of foods; meat, seafood, poultry, vegetable, and cold food items
  3. Arrange sauces and supplementary garnishes for allocated station
  4. Cover, date and correctly store all bits and pieces and food prep items
  5. Notify Chef in advance of likely shortages
  6. Serve menu items compliant with established standards
  7. Use food preparation tools in accordance with manufacturers' instructions
  8. Close the kitchen correctly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations
  9. Maintain a prepared and sanitary work area at all times
  10. Keep the work area fresh all through the shift
  11. Ensure all storage areas are tidy and all products are stored appropriately
  12. Constantly use safe and hygienic food handling practices
  13. Return dirty food preparation utensils to the appropriate areas
  14. Assist with all duties as assigned by Chef
Qualifications:
  • Weekend and night availability are required!
  • 2+ years experience as a Line Cook required.
  • Culinary degree highly preferred.

Salary Range (NY only):

$17.00 - $25.00 per hour
