InterContinental New Orleans is seeking a Restaurant Host/Server Assistant to create the first positive impression of the dining experience. You will warmly welcome guests, guide them to tables, manage menus, and support smooth seating operations.

You will handle reservations, assist with beverage service, train staff, and maintain cleanliness across serving stations while coordinating with dining room and kitchen teams for a memorable guest experience.

Qualifications

• Hospitality or guest service experience preferred.
• Experience in dining room operations or customer service is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Greet guests, escort to tables, and provide menus.
• Schedule reservations, arrange parties, and coordinate special services.
• Handle guest complaints as directed by a supervisor.
• Coordinate tasks for dining room staff to ensure timely, courteous service.
• Inspect serving stations for cleanliness and requisition supplies.
• Ensure menus are clean, organized, and presentable.
• Notify servers of new tables and communicate with line cooks about large parties.
• Train and mentor dining room staff, including scheduling hours and time records.
• Assist in planning menus, preparing beverages, and expediting food orders.
• Handle end-of-shift duties, totals receipts, and collect payments.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Restaurant Host/Server Assistant creates the first impression of the dining experience by providing a warm and professional welcome to guests. This role ensures smooth seating operations, efficient reservation management, and seamless communication with dining room and kitchen staff to support excellent guest service.

How You’ll Shape The Experience & Future

• Greet guests upon arrival, escort them to tables, and provide menus.
• Schedule dining reservations, arrange parties, and coordinate special services for diners.
• Adjust and resolve guest complaints as directed by a supervisor.
• Assign and coordinate tasks for dining room staff to ensure prompt, courteous, and fair service.
• Inspect serving stations for neatness and cleanliness; requisition linens and supplies as needed.
• Ensure menus are clean, organized, and presentable.
• Notify servers of new tables and communicate with line cooks on large party arrivals.
• Train and mentor dining room employees as needed, including scheduling work hours and maintaining time records.
• Assist in planning menus, preparing beverages, and expediting food orders when necessary.
• Handle end-of-shift responsibilities such as totaling receipts, clearing the register, and collecting payments.
• Other duties as assigned.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
