The General Manager is responsible for the daily oversight of the Restaurant and staff. Responsibilities for the GM include ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, providing exceptional internal and external guest service, monitoring food presentation and quality, leading our team members with a positive and engaging spirit, and effectively managing the outlet’s P&L. The GM’s overall leadership and partnership with the culinary and service staff are paramount to our success.
Responsibilities
Where You'll Make an Impact:
- Create a strong partnership with the culinary and front of house staff to ensure exceptional guest service, consistent dish presentation, and high food quality
- Maintain open communication with staff and foster a team spirit
- Work closely with servers/hostesses and culinary staff to ensure proper equipment maintenance and cleanliness standards
- Supervise and assist in guest service training for all team members
- Manage quality control of service and the timeliness of food & alcohol orders
- Evaluate and respond to guest trends, needs, issues, and comments
- Assist with developing marketing strategies to increase visitation, guest loyalty, and host-driven events
- Promote venue awareness through social media channels
- Stay informed of competitive techniques and pursue continuous improvement
- Ensure the outlet’s physical appearance and FFE are maintained in excellent condition
- Ensure compliance with all regulations related to food, alcohol, and gaming
- Coordinate with culinary and purchasing teams to maintain appropriate inventories
- Optimize control of labor, food, and beverage costs
- Implement continuous process improvements to enhance amenities for Asian guests and support gaming and retail areas
Skills to Help You Succeed:
- Fluency in English and one or more Asiatic languages
- Extensive knowledge of Pacific Rim cooking principles, ingredients, and preparation techniques for various ethnic dishes and flavor profiles
- General beverage knowledge including spirits, wine, beer, and cordials
- Flexible work schedule
- Knowledge of sanitation laws, health regulations, and OSHA standards
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros and Aloha
- Understanding of budgeting, P&L review, and financial variances
Qualifications
Must-Haves:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a 4-year degree in a related field is preferred
- 5-7 years of experience in restaurant management and supervision
- Ability to analyze and interpret operational results
- Problem-solving skills for complex issues
- Ability to perform duties under pressure
- Accuracy and timeliness in completing tasks
- Certification in alcohol awareness
- Ability to comply with state gaming regulations, including obtaining necessary licenses
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work long hours
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Capability to climb stairs multiple times daily
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 30 pounds frequently
- Ability to bend, stretch, reach, and perform physical tasks
- Ability to work under variable temperatures and noise levels
- Use of stairs and elevators
