Job summary

Neiman Marcus in Coral Gables is seeking a Restaurant Cook to support our luxury retail dining experience. You will help maintain high quality food items while monitoring inventory costs and profitability, under supervision of the head cook.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 35 pounds, and availability evenings, weekends, and holidays. You will coordinate daily menu production, ensure health and sanitation standards, and help keep the kitchen organized and compliant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience.
• "Win together" mentality.
• Role requires standing, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting and carrying 35 pounds.
• Associates must be available based on our needs, including evenings, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an active role in the smoothness and efficiency of retail restaurant operations by producing and coordinating the production of food items needed for daily menus and special events.
• Control daily and weekly inventories.
• Maintain team awareness of inventory cost and profitability through proper use of production, build-to, and order sheets.
• Check with supervisor for any special preparation before starting normal kitchen tasks.
• Coordinate production of daily menu items using menu count and production sheets to help control waste.
• Check inventory of all menus.
• Communicate supply needs for production with head cook.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area keeping in mind health and sanitation standards.
• Maintain equipment daily and report any malfunctions to designated Associate.
• Maintain flow of food orders by communicating with Associates promptly.
• Verify all special orders with designated Associate.
• Maintain production of menu items throughout the day, keeping up with supply demands and avoiding waste.
• Closes and sanitizes work area promptly according to health codes and prepares for next day.
• Communicate any supplies that need to be ordered to supervisor.
• Checks in with a supervisor before leaving.
• Uphold all Health and Sanitation standards as directed by Neiman Marcus and health auditors.
