Job Summary

The Restaurant Cook oversees the daily operation of the grill and food prep in the restaurant. Responsibilities include proper food preparation, handling, and storage. The role requires providing excellent customer service and being a strong team player for our franchise partner.

Responsibilities

1. Report to work on time in a clean, complete proper uniform.
2. Greet all customers with a smile and a verbal greeting: “Good Morning or Welcome to Huddle House.”
3. Prepare food promptly once an order is placed.
4. Complete the position checklist, stocking and preparing the unit for the next shift.
5. Report concerns immediately to the manager, especially safety issues and customer complaints.
6. Know the menu and daily features, ensuring they are cooked and presented correctly.
7. Follow the Huddle House steps of service to maximize shift sales.
8. Adhere to safety, food handling, cash security, and other restaurant policies.
9. Perform prepping and cleaning duties as assigned.
10. Control food costs by managing waste and portion sizes.

Qualifications

1. Effective communication skills with restaurant staff.
2. Previous restaurant experience preferred.
3. “Can do” attitude and willingness to work during shift hours.
