Job summary

Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles seeks a Restaurant Commis to help deliver guest-focused culinary experiences. You will assist chefs during service, contribute ideas, and uphold recipe standards while maintaining clean, organized workstations.

You will prepare quality dishes, support training of the culinary team, read recipes accurately, and maintain food safety practices. This role offers growth within a dynamic luxury hotel and opportunities across Accor properties.

Qualifications

• Basic culinary training, whether on the job or via schooling.
• One to 2 years’ experience in professional kitchen; comfortable with moderate volume of preparation
• Luxury experience appreciated
• Basic knowledge of sauce preparation, protein and vegetable cookery, garde manger (cold/ salads station)
• Ability to read and follow recipes and directions,- and produce consistent end product
• Basic knowledge of food safety practices

Additional Information

Hourly Rate:Per the collective bargaining agreement with UNITE HERE Local 11, break-in rates apply to newly hired employees in non-tipped classifications during their first 18 months of employment.

• Starts at $28.00/hour
• Increases to $32.40/hour at 9 months
• Reaches full scale of $37.00/hour at 18 months
