The 1,054-room Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is the newest luxury hotel in the City of Boston, and the most significant hotel project in the city for the last forty years. The property features seven outlets for drinking and dining, a signature spa, fitness center, and rooftop pool. It boasts more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space, and caters to the most discerning clientele.

Job Description

The Restaurant Barback is responsible for delivering excellence in guest service by supporting servers in providing personalized service, anticipating, and delivering guests’ needs. The Barback comprehends the cocktail/beverage menus and anticipates the needs of the bartenders to ensure all products and supplies are present.

Responsibilities
  • Consistent maintenance and refinement of service standards. Ensures compliance with all hotel standards and local laws.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation awareness standards. Prepare daily for health department and Ecosure inspections.
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of alcoholic beverages and retain complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items.
  • Perform all banquet side work as assigned by management, including cleaning of bar and beverage equipment, portable bars, back bars, walls, and carpets surrounding assigned work area.
  • Ensure positive guest service and respond positively to complaints, taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
  • Assist in controlling food and beverage quantities by avoiding over/under preparing.
  • Assist with set up and break down of all the banquet bar areas.
  • Attend all required department trainings and meetings.
  • Perform any other duties required by leadership.
Qualifications
  • Candidate must have hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business.
  • A minimum of relevant bar experience in a large convention hotel is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure.
  • Proven ability to engage guests at all levels. Must be passionate about providing warm, engaging, and personalized service.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly both verbally and in writing in English with guests, management, and co-workers.
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
  • Computer literacy to include Payroll systems, Micros, POS systems.
  • Serve Safe certified | Unexpired TIPs required.
