Summary of Position

Provides friendly and efficient service to guests according to company policies, procedures, programs, and performance standards. Performs duties to maximize guest satisfaction and maintain a positive work environment, as directed by the manager on duty. Ensures cleanliness and proper condition of kitchen work areas, restaurant common areas, dishware, silverware, equipment, and utensils.

Position Activities and Tasks

• Maintain dish room cleanliness and organization
• Report to work well-groomed, in proper uniform, practicing good personal hygiene
• Arrange soiled dishes, silverware, and glassware into washer trays
• Pre-rinse items to be washed
• Load trays into dishwasher and unload cleaned items
• Wash pots and pans in the 3-compartment sink
• Air dry dishes and utensils without stacking
• Keep silverware out of trash
• Maintain cleanliness of stations and work areas
• Perform side work during downtime (e.g., rolling silverware, restocking condiments, cleaning)
• Inform management of issues and suggest solutions
• Assist kitchen staff with food prep and other activities as directed
• Assist with cleaning and organization tasks, including restocking and trash removal
• Help with groundskeeping and parking lot cleanup

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Stand and walk extensively for up to 8 hours
• Visual and physical ability to handle tasks involving heat, steam, cold, reaching, bending, lifting (up to 50 pounds), and working in various environmental conditions
• Work under pressure during busy hours

Supervision and Skills

Receives guidance from the Kitchen Manager or Manager on duty. Basic skills in sanitation, safety, and customer service can be taught in-house. No prior experience required.
