Summary of Position

Prepares menu items according to company policies, procedures, and standards. Maintains food costs and kitchen cleanliness. Performs duties to maximize guest satisfaction and a positive work environment, under the guidance of the Kitchen Manager or Manager on Duty.

Position Activities and Tasks

1. Prepares cooking items and prep ingredients as per recipes and guest requests.
2. Reports to work well-groomed, in proper uniform, practicing good hygiene.
3. Maintains and cleans all kitchen equipment and storage areas.
4. Stocks and rotates products, ensuring freshness and proper shelf life.
5. Controls food costs by accurate portioning and following FIFO standards.
6. Maintains cleanliness of all kitchen and prep areas, adhering to safety and sanitation policies.
7. Follows safety procedures, conducts line sweeps, and ensures equipment is clean.
8. Communicates effectively with team members and management regarding issues and solutions.
9. Assists team members in food prep, dishwashing, and maintaining cleanliness in the dining area.
10. Provides excellent guest service through cooperation and communication with front-of-house staff.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Standing and walking for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to see, communicate clearly, and work in hot, cold, or smoky environments.
• Reaching, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working at heights.
• Exposure to chemicals and heavy workload during busy hours.

Supervision and Skills

Receives guidance from the Kitchen Manager or Manager on Duty. Basic skills in sanitation, safety, and customer service are provided in-house. No prior experience required.
