Job summary

Miss J’s Cafe is seeking an energetic Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in overseeing daily operations, delivering excellent customer service, and maintaining food quality and safety standards.

The AGM will supervise front- and back-of-house teams, assist with hiring and scheduling, monitor costs, and drive guest satisfaction while promoting a positive workplace culture. This full-time role requires flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of supervisory or assistant management experience in the restaurant industry.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Passion for customer service and hospitality.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and basic business operations.

Responsibilities

• Operational Support: assist GM with daily operations including opening/closing procedures; oversee dining room and kitchen during shifts; manage inventory, ordering, and deliveries; ensure health and sanitation compliance.
• Staff Supervision: lead front- and back-of-house staff; assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and scheduling; coach and support staff to maintain high performance and guest satisfaction.
• Customer Service: monitor service quality; address customer concerns; promote a welcoming environment aligned with brand values; step in to serve guests when needed.
• Financial Responsibilities: assist in achieving sales and profitability targets; monitor labor costs; review daily sales reports and help implement cost control strategies.
