Job summary

SMA Healthcare in Florida is seeking a dependable custodian to perform cleaning duties across facilities. The role involves floor care, restroom sanitation, litter removal, and general upkeep in offices and common areas.

Qualified candidates will follow safety procedures, work well with others, and handle custodial tasks and chemicals safely. This is a full daily janitorial position with varying hours and locations as required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Sweeps and mops all vinyl and ceramic tile floors; cleans baseboards.
• Empties, cleans and relines waste baskets and sanitary containers.
• Cleans and sanitizes urinals, toilets, sinks, showers, wall partitions; replenishes restroom supplies.
• Cleans office and storage areas.
• Cleans stall walls, top of stalls, ceiling fixtures, vents and other surfaces as required.
• Picks up litter in flower beds, surrounding landscape, entrance and exit ramps and picnic areas.
• Cleans foyer area, wipes down water faucets, benches, bulletin boards and newspaper racks.
• Maintains awareness of proper safety procedures and applies them in daily activities.
• Performs other work assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities:

Must be dependable, hard-working individual who is in good health,follows directions well, and gets along with other people. Ability to performmanual labor. Willingness to learn methods of cleaning. Knowledgeof custodial tasks and responsibilities, and understanding of custodialmaterials and chemicals. Ability tosafely work with equipment and mild chemicals common to the trade and do soin a manner safe to oneself, others in the area, and to the environment.

NecessarySpecial Requirements:

Possession of a valid Floridadriver's license, proof of personal automobile insurance, and have acceptabledriving record if required to drive Stewart-Marchman-Act Behavioral vehicleand/or use personal vehicle for SMA business.

Physical:

Mobilityand ability to bend and reach during an 8-12 hour day.Abilityto lift up to and including 50 lbs. Must be able to lift, push,pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to providesupport over time without fatigue.Regularly works in outside conditions that include inclement weather,heat and humidity.Fine motor skills for legible and accuratecharting, daily correspondence and presentation, either manually or orally.Work endurance ability to work 8-12 hour shifts with a meal break, aspossible. Routine 8-12 hour shifts. Hours and days off may vary. Extrahours may be required. Work assignment locations may vary.
