Job summary

The Center at Foresight in Grand Junction, CO is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant to support restorative nursing and therapy services.

You will assist patients, collaborate with therapy staff, manage equipment and records, and help with dining, transport, and daily activities. Must have current CNA license and a calm, team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Must have a current, unrestricted CNA license.
• Experience with restorative and rehabilitation services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Restorative Nurse and participate in developing, organizing and implementing restorative nursing programs for patients.
• Collaborate with the therapy department to ensure discharge recommendations are carried through; participate in group and individual therapy.
• Assist patients in the dining room and record patient weights as needed.
• Support therapy needs: help patients in the therapy gym; provide equipment to therapists; assist patients and therapists in exercise routines.
• Manage temperature logs (refrigerator, freezer, hydrocullator) and maintain related records.
• File paperwork and provide documents to be scanned into medical records; complete laundry for therapy gym needs.
• Clean exercise equipment and durable medical equipment; provide medical equipment to patient rooms and therapy gym as needed.
• Communicate with patients and all staff; perform other duties as needed by restorative nursing and therapy departments.

Salary Range: $16.00 - $22.00 Hourly

Job Shift: Any

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists the Restorative Nurse and participates in the development, organization and implementation of restorative nursing programs for patients.
• Works closely with the therapy department. Sees that specific recommendations, when discharged from therapy are carried through. Involved in group and individual therapy treatments
• Assist patients in the dining room and take patient’s weight as needed
• Assist the therapy department with needs such as:
• Helping patients to/from therapy gym
• Providing equipment to therapists for use
• Patients and therapists in exercise routines
• Manage temperature logs including refrigerator, freezer, hydrocullator
• File paperwork and provide papers to be scanned in to medical records
• Complete laundry for therapy gym needs
• Clean all exercise equipment and durable medical equipment
• Provide medical equipment including wheelchairs, walkers, and commodes to patient rooms and therapy gym as needed
• Communicate with patients and all staff
• Other duties as needed by the restorative nursing and therapy departments

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Must have a current, unrestricted CNA license
• Must have experience with restorative and rehabilitation services

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• Good standing in the state registry is required
• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a CNA in the applicable state

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Employee is required to hear, speak, sit, stand, and walk daily. The position is located in healthcare facility environment. Employee may lift up to 40 pounds and transfer 100 plus pounds. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
