Center-At-Foresight in Grand Junction, CO seeks a Restorative Nurse Aide/Rehab Tech to support our restorative nursing program. You will work closely with the therapy team to implement treatments that preserve eating, self-care and mobility for residents.

Responsibilities include assisting in dining, documenting weights and progress, helping patients in therapy gym, transporting equipment, and maintaining clean, stocked equipment and records.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current, unrestricted CNA license.
  • Experience with restorative and rehabilitation services.
  • Excellent communication and compassionate care.
  • Ability to multi-task and stay calm in chaotic situations.
  • Read and write English.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Restorative Nurse and participate in program development.

The Restorative Nurse Aide/Rehab Tech is responsible for assisting in the development, and implementation of the restorative nursing program for the facility. The restorative nursing staff are the liaisons between formalized therapy and nursing. The restorative aide will be responsible for providing direct care while utilizing techniques within the established program that aim to maintain or improve patients’ eating/swallowing, self-care, and mobility independence.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assists the Restorative Nurse and participates in the development, organization and implementation of restorative nursing programs for patients.Works closely with the therapy department. Sees that specific recommendations, when discharged from therapy are carried through. Involved in group and individual therapy treatmentsAssist patients in the dining room and take patient’s weight as neededAssist the therapy department with needs such as:helping patients to/from therapy gymproviding equipment to therapists for usepatients and therapists in exercise routinesManage temperature logs including refrigerator, freezer, hydrocullatorFile paperwork and provide papers to be scanned in to medical recordsComplete laundry for therapy gym needsClean all exercise equipment and durable medical equipmentProvide medical equipment including wheelchairs, walkers, and commodes to patient rooms and therapy gym as neededCommunicate with patients and all staffOther duties as needed by the restorative nursing and therapy departmentsQUALIFICATONS:Excellent communication skills and the ability to have difficult conversations while maintaining compassionMust be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team conceptMust be self-motivated and have excellent follow-throughHave the ability to multi task and keep a calm demeanor even in chaotic situationsBe a champion of positivity and high moraleAbility to read and write EnglishEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Must have a current, unrestricted CNA licenseMust have experience with restorative and rehabilitation servicesCERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:Good standing in the state registry is requiredMust possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a CNA in the applicable statePHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT: Employee is required to hear, speak, sit, stand, and walk daily. The position is located in healthcare facility environment. Employee may lift up to 40 pounds and transfer 100 plus pounds. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
