Google DeepMind seeks a Research Engineer focused on Responsibility to advance responsible AI initiatives. You will design experiments, prototype architectures, and work closely with Research Scientists to push the state of the art while ensuring safety and ethical considerations.

Joining a specialized Applied Research and Responsibility team, you’ll lead technical direction, scale engineering solutions, and communicate trade-offs to leadership across global programs.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in Python programming.
Experience with generative AI, NLP, and LLMs.
Experience with Cloud AI/ML systems and tools (e.g., Kaggle, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Responsibilities

Design, prototype, scale engineering solutions and run experiments for research priorities in Responsibility portfolio.
Collaborate with Research Scientists to advance Responsible AI.
Anchor technical practices for code quality, scalability, and system design.
Present complex engineering trade-offs and research results to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
Lead project teams and set technical direction.
