Job summary

Google DeepMind is seeking a Research Engineer to join the Responsible Frontier AI Research team in New York. You will design, prototype, and scale ML systems, working closely with Research Scientists to advance Responsible AI and ensure robust mitigations across initiatives.

You will build infrastructure, run extensive experiments, and present results to leadership, operating with independence while aligning with cross-disciplinary stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in machine learning engineering or large-scale software systems.
• 3 years of experience in Python programming
• 3 years of experience with ML frameworks such as JAX, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, scale engineering solutions, and run rigorous experiments to address emerging research priorities within the Responsibility portfolio.
