Job summary

Pinterest is seeking a Senior ML Engineer for the Responsible AI team to advance fairness and safety in large-scale ML systems. You will work on applied AI initiatives that influence billions of signals and impact the Pinterest product.

You will collaborate with product engineering and other AI teams, mentor engineers, and help define technical strategy in partnership with senior leaders. This role offers the chance to shape applied research and product impact.

Qualifications

• Extensive real-world experience applying advanced ML methods to production systems.
• Familiar with transformer-based models and large-scale Search/Reco systems.
• Ability to measure and deploy fairness interventions at scale.
• 2+ years in ML-driven, user-facing product teams.
• Masters or PhD in CS or related field.

Responsibilities

• Execute on Responsible AI projects to identify, avoid, and mitigate bias across ML applications, including generative AI.
• Collaborate with trust & safety, user modeling, and content understanding teams to leverage platforms and signals.
• Mentor junior engineers on the Responsible AI team and across the company.
• Define and drive technical strategy in this area with senior leaders.
