Job summary

AMG Contractors is seeking an experienced HVAC Service Manager to lead our Austin service team. This role focuses on mentoring technicians, managing daily operations, and delivering top-tier HVAC solutions to residential and commercial clients.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in HVAC with supervisory experience, EPA 608 certification, and a Texas Class B license. A strong customer service mindset and proficiency with service management software are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in HVAC with at least 2 years in supervision
• EPA 608 Certification required; NATE certification a plus
• Texas driver’s license or equivalent with clean record
• TDLR Class B license required

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily HVAC service operations, scheduling, and dispatch for residential and commercial accounts
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of HVAC technicians to ensure quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
• Conduct field inspections and quality control checks to ensure work meets standards
• Manage service department budgets, job costing, and profitability goals
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, handling escalations and timely resolutions
• Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to maintain inventory
• Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and EPA/OSHA standards
• Support technician recruitment, training, and performance evaluations

Modern Air/AMG Contractors is looking for an experienced and driven HVAC Service Manager to lead our service team in Austin, TX. The manager would be required to carry and license the company with a minimum class B license. • Oversee daily HVAC service operations, scheduling, and dispatch for residential and/or commercial accounts
• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of HVAC technicians to ensure quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
• Conduct field inspections, quality control checks, and job site visits to ensure work meets company and industry standards
• Manage service department budgets, job costing, and profitability goals
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, handling escalations and ensuring timely issue resolution
• Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to maintain proper parts and equipment inventory
• Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and EPA/OSHA standards
• Support technician recruitment, training, and performance evaluations

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on HVAC experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management role
• EPA 608 Certification required; NATE certification a plus
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems including installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and/or commercial equipment
• Proven ability to manage teams, schedules, and service workflows efficiently
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Proficiency with service management software and basic computer skills
• Valid Texas driver's license with a clean driving record
• Strong problem-solving mindset with a commitment to safety and quality
• TDLR class B license
