Job summary

Lighthouse Youth & Family Services in Cincinnati is seeking an Entry-level Respite Provider to support families by giving caregivers temporary relief while creating a safe, engaging environment for youth from birth through age 21 with mental health diagnoses.

In this role you will supervise, plan activities, teach skills, and collaborate with a treatment team, while maintaining documentation and upholding a flexible schedule, including travel up to 25% locally.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and trauma-informed support skills.
• Ability to work according to client and family needs, which may frequently include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to travel locally and transport clients using a personal vehicle.
• Occasionally lift or move up to 30 pounds.

What You'll Do

As a Respite Provider, you will help young people build skills, experience positive connections, and participate in activities that support their well-being. Your work will also give parents and caregivers valuable time to rest and recharge.

In this role, you will:

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience understanding and engaging individuals with mental illness or psychiatric symptoms.
• Understanding of how mental health symptoms may affect functioning and behavior.
• Knowledge of recovery and resiliency concepts.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
