Job summary

Riverside Community Care is hiring a Respite Counselor to work in an acute care residence as part of a team. You will guide, educate, supervise, and directly support consumers to maintain health, safety, and move toward independent living.

The role emphasizes individualized care, crisis stabilization, and coordinated treatment planning, with a focus on respectful engagement and outcomes for adults with mental health and related needs.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate in and comprehend the English language, including clearly documenting consumer progress and activities in program records.
• Ability to work as a member of a team and to function independently.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Basic computer fluency, including Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license, safe driving record and regular access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance, education, supervision, and direct supports to allow consumers to maintain physical and emotional health and to develop skills for independent living.
• Support crisis or situational stabilization as part of a structured stabilization and care coordination program.
• Maintain respectful, individualized interactions with consumers and coordinate with team members to achieve treatment goals.
