What is Respite Care?

If you’ve never heard the term “respite care” before, that’s okay!

Respite care provides support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while giving their regular caregivers or family members a break. As a Respite Caregiver, you’ll spend one‑on‑one time with clients in their home or out in the community, helping them stay safe, active, and engaged.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys helping others and wants flexible, meaningful part‑time work.

What You’ll Do

No two days will look exactly the same. Depending on the individual you’re supporting, you may:

Provide companionship, care, and supervision

Go to the park, zoo, or other community activities
