Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
• Have reliable transportation to and from the respite center.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the well being and safety of children with SED diagnosis.
• Provide supervision of children and assistance with arts and crafts, reading, social skill building, and recreational play.
• Leads recreational activities that are developmentally appropriate.
• Initiates interventions to encourage appropriate behaviors as specified in the respite care plan and within agency guidelines.
• Interacts positively with the children, dealing with difficult behaviors exhibited in ways that promote growth and wellbeing.
• Communicates effectively with family members, supervisors and with other staff members.
• Prepares written reports and documentation of interactions with children as well as needs and irregularities.
