Job summary

Easterseals Northern California is seeking a Respite Associate to provide compassionate care for clients with disabilities in home and community settings. You will supervise activities, offer companionship, and coordinate care with families and caregivers while working mainly evenings and weekends.

The role requires a high school diploma, being 18+, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Prior caregiving experience is preferred and staff training is provided.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Effective communication and respectful interaction with clients and staff.
• Committed to ESNorCal values, resilience and inclusion.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform basic daily living tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care by engaging clients in activities in home or community settings.
• Support basic living skills (toileting, hygiene, food prep, dressing, etc.).
• Adhere to program rules and family home rules.
• Follow safety protocols to protect clients and staff.
• Submit timely billing-related data and maintain confidentiality.
• Occasional coverage for Kaleidoscope Adult Community program on weekdays.
