Job summary

Community Horizons is seeking a compassionate Respite Provider in Wisconsin to deliver short-term care for a gentleman in Sugar Camp who has developmental disabilities, including autism. You will ensure safety, engage the individual in activities, and provide meals and supervision during respite periods.

The role is an as-needed position with variable scheduling, offering a meaningful, paid opportunity to make a difference while supporting families and caregivers.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and/or autism preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Comfortable around cats and dogs.
• Reliable and flexible; enjoys engaging in activities and building connections.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision during scheduled respite periods, ensuring safety at all times.
• Support medication administration according to established care plans while maintaining strict confidentiality (HIPAA compliance).
• Prepare nutritious meals and snacks based on individual dietary needs, following proper food safety practices.
• Offer gentle reminders for personal hygiene, including showering as needed.
• Engage in meaningful activities such as outings, recreational activities, and gym visits.
