Job summary

MUSC Children's Health is seeking a Respiratory Student Technician (RST) PRN to support the Respiratory Therapy Department in a hospital setting. The role includes equipment maintenance, supply management, and limited patient care under supervision. Work shifts include weekends and holidays as needed.

The position is designed for first- and second-year respiratory therapy students with supervision by licensed therapists. This is an on-site hospital role within MUHA.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in COARC-accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
• High school diploma or GED.
• BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain respiratory equipment and supplies.
• Retrieve soiled equipment and disinfect non-disposable items.
• Prepare equipment for reuse and restock supplies.
• Deliver equipment to assigned areas and maintain organized storage locations.
• Complete equipment logs and identify equipment needing repair or maintenance.
• Support Respiratory Therapists and department leadership to ensure equipment availability and efficient workflow.
• Assist with patient care tasks under supervision as competencies progress.
