Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, actively enrolled in a respiratory program.
• Must have student licensure and a current state license or permit.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to apply cardiopulmonary knowledge and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Engages in population appropriate communication.
• Gives clear instructions to patients/family regarding treatment.
• Involves family/guardian in assessment and care of the patient.
• Identifies physical limitations and deploys interventions.
• Responds appropriately to patients/families with behavioral health problems.
• Interprets population related data and plans care appropriately.
• Performs treatments, administers medications or operates equipment safely.
• Records information in the patient record and performs SBAR hand-off.
