Job summary

The University of Miami Health System seeks an experienced Respiratory Therapy Lead to plan, supervise, and improve patient care delivery across the respiratory team. You will supervise staff, train students, and ensure compliance with licensing and safety standards.

You will conduct rounds, manage staffing, operate ventilators and related equipment, and promote exceptional service while supporting departmental goals and the university's mission.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a relevant field is required.
• Florida Registered Respiratory Therapist license required; BLS/ACLS required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with 3 years in critical care.
• Knowledge of business and management principles.
• Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
• Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
• Ability to supervise and train others.

Responsibilities

• Plans, assigns, supervises, and reviews work of staff involved in respiratory therapy.
• Conducts daily rounds/inspections to improve service delivery.
• Monitors staffing levels to meet productivity guidelines.
• Operates and Supervises devices such as ventilators and related equipment.
• Maintains patient charts and therapy information.
• Coordinates activities to maximize resource utilization.
• Develops in-service training and compiles departmental statistics.
