Job summary

Methodist Medical Center of Oak Ridge, part of Covenant Health, is seeking a Respiratory Therapy Intern to support the Respiratory Department in a PRN/OCC role with variable hours. The intern will assist with equipment handling, transport, and stocking under supervision, with no direct patient care until licensure.

Minimum education is flexible; must be enrolled in a CoArc approved Respiratory Therapy Program and be a second-year student, with current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a CoArc approved Respiratory Therapy Program and second-year status.
• One year of clinical and didactical completion of an accredited CoArc Respiratory Therapy Program.
• Current BLS certification.
• No direct patient care until licensure in Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Maintains respiratory equipment and supplies under supervision.
• Assists therapists with patient transport and equipment requests.
• Performs chart review for RT assessments as directed by a therapist.
• Attends required meetings and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
