Duke Raleigh Hospital, a Campus of Duke University Hospital, in Raleigh, North Carolina seeks an active Respiratory Therapist Assistant who has completed their first year of an approved respiratory program to join our mission of Advancing Health Together.

This student role performs diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory care under supervision, including verifying orders, patient assessment, and education within the Duke Health system.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a 2-year approved respiratory care program (associate’s degree or the equivalent) and is in good standing.
• Completion of the first semester of the respiratory care program.
• BLS certification and any other certifications applicable to the institution.

Responsibilities

• Verify physician orders for appropriateness and accuracy.
• Perform diagnostic cardiopulmonary procedures and airway management.
• Monitor patient responses and document in the medical record.
• Provide patient and family education and collaborate with health-care team.
