Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy school program.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required.
• KSAs: strong data entry and computer skills; effective verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal skills; self-directed with the ability to work independently; good planning, organizing and time management; ability to travel between facilities; flexible schedule (24/7, weekend, holiday, on call).

Responsibilities

• Assists the Respiratory Therapists in patient care with direct supervision of the CRT/RRT.
• Performs clinical duties as outlined by departmental Orientation, Assessment & Evaluation, training and competency.
• Supports hospital administration by upholding objectives, policies and procedures.
• Document patient-related tasks accurately.
• Maintain professional knowledge and required certifications through growth and development.
• Adapt communication style to patient population and obtain permissions as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
