Job summary

Ochsner Health System Careers in Baton Rouge is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide respiratory care, oxygen therapy, diagnostic testing, and ventilation support for patients from neonatal to geriatric ages. You will monitor oxygen therapy, assist with artificial airways, and work under physician guidance in accordance with policies.

The role requires an associate's degree, an active license, and NBRC credentials, with BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications as applicable, plus strong data

Qualifications

• Associate's degree is required for respiratory therapists.
• Active state license as Respiratory Therapist is required.
• NBRC credentials (CRT/RRT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) are required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine and advanced therapeutic procedures per policy.
• Reviews and documents clinical information for each patient.
• Educates patients and co-workers on procedures and treatment plans.
• Performs diagnostic procedures.
• Maintains certifications and up-to-date knowledge of procedures.
• Attends staff meetings and performs other related duties.
