Position Summary

Perform blood gas analysis. Inventory Respiratory Therapy equipment. Clean Respiratory Therapy/Bronchoscopy equipment. Deliver medical gas tanks/change tank banks.

Education, License & Certification

High school graduate with the ability to work well with patients and accurately with numbers. One semester of college biology, chemistry, and advanced algebra preferred.

Experience

One year of allied health experience preferred.

Essential Functions

• Perform blood gas analysis.
• Effectively recognize equipment functionality status and appropriately troubleshoot equipment.
• Perform blood gas quality control procedures and document results appropriately.
• Deliver medical gas tanks to hospital units.
• Switch and change tank banks in tank room, as well as large cylinders in other areas of hospital as needed.
• Inventory disposable equipment in Respiratory Therapy Department and ICU storeroom and replace as needed.
• Disassemble, clean and reassemble Respiratory Therapy equipment.
• Exchange disposable set-ups as needed.
• O2 tanks and regulators (transporting, storage, changing regulators).
• Home O2 tank delivery.
• Inventory of Respiratory Therapy Equipment.
• Prep ventilators for use.
• Restock respiratory stock rooms/areas.
• Handwashing audits.
• Charges for Oxygen - validate with finance/regulatory.
