Job summary

Northcrest Rehab and Nursing in Napoleon, Ohio is seeking Respiratory Therapists to join our night shift team. You will operate ventilation equipment, administer therapeutic gases, monitor patients, and support breathing exercises under physician orders.

This full-time night role offers increased wages and a $2,500 sign-on bonus. You will be part of a dedicated care team, maintain patient charts, and participate in competency training.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy.
• 1–3 months related experience and/or training or equivalent education.
• Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators and gas administration equipment.
• Monitors patient responses and vital signs during therapy and adjusts treatment as needed.
• Assists patients with breathing exercises and airway clearance.
• Maintains patient charts with therapy information and orders repairs when needed.
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and staff.
• Inspects respiratory therapy equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.

Respiratory Therapists (RT) 7p-7a - Increased Wages

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following: other duties may be assigned.

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.

• Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment such as volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature, and to administer medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of Physician.

• Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs.

• Assists patient in performing breathing exercises.

• Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy. Consults with Physician in event of adverse reactions.

• Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information.

• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.

• Orders repairs when needed.

• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel.
