Job summary

Northcrest Rehab and Nursing in Napoleon, Ohio, is seeking Respiratory Therapists to join our Night shift team. We offer a $2,500 sign-on bonus and increased wages for this full-time position.

As an RT, you will set up and operate ventilators and therapy equipment, monitor patient responses, assist with breathing exercises, maintain patient charts, and ensure equipment safety. A license and schooling in respiratory therapy are required.

Qualifications

• One to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.
• Operates equipment to ensure specified therapy parameters and administers medicinal gases and aerosols under physician orders.
• Monitors patient vital signs to assess responses to therapy.
• Assists patients with breathing exercises.
• Observes equipment function and adjusts to optimize therapy; consults with physician for adverse reactions.
• Maintains patient charts with identification and therapy information.
• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment for safety and efficiency; orders repairs when needed.
• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel.

Education

Active State Respiratory Care Practitioner License

Completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy

Respiratory Therapists (RT) 7p-7a - Increased Wages

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.

• Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment such as volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature, and to administer medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of Physician.

• Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs.

• Assists patient in performing breathing exercises.

• Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy. Consults with Physician in event of adverse reactions.

• Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information.

• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.

• Orders repairs when needed.

• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel.
