Job summary

Northcrest Rehab and Nursing in Napoleon, Ohio seeks Respiratory Therapists to join our night shift team. This full-time role runs 7p-7a with a $2,500 sign-on bonus.

As an RT, you will operate ventilators and gas delivery systems, monitor patient responses, and document therapy progress. Must have completed an approved respiratory therapy program and hold an active State Respiratory Care Practitioner license. Experience: 1–3 months preferred.

Qualifications

• One to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The completion of an approved school for respiratory therapy.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate ventilators and gas delivery apparatus.
• Monitor patient responses: vital signs, oxygenation, and therapy parameters.
• Assist patient with breathing exercises and ensure comfort during therapy.
• Adjust equipment for optimal therapy and consult physician on adverse reactions.
• Maintain accurate patient therapy charts and therapy documentation.
• Inspect and test respiratory equipment for safety and efficacy; arrange repairs as needed.
• Demonstrate respiratory care procedures to trainees and other staff.

Respiratory Therapists (RT) 7p-7a - Increased Wages

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sets up and operates devices such as mechanical ventilators, therapeutic gas administration apparatus, environmental control systems, and aerosol generators.

• Operates equipment to ensure specified parameters of treatment such as volume, gas concentration, humidity, and temperature, and to administer medicinal gases and aerosol drugs to patients under the orders of Physician.

• Monitors patient's physiological responses to therapy through patient vital signs.

• Assists patient in performing breathing exercises.

• Observes equipment function and adjusts equipment to obtain optimum results to therapy. Consults with Physician in event of adverse reactions.

• Maintains patient's chart that contains pertinent identification and therapy information.

• Inspects and tests respiratory therapy equipment to ensure equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.

• Orders repairs when needed.

• Demonstrates respiratory care procedures to trainees and other health care personnel.
