Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join the team at University Hospital in Indianapolis. You will collaborate with nurses and specialists to evaluate and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, participate in bedside rounds, and advocate for patient care.

The role offers a special weekend option, a sign-on bonus of $30,000 for eligible external candidates, and relocation assistance up to $10,000 based on location.

Qualifications

• Requires current license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner in Indiana.
• Graduation from a CoARC-accredited respiratory care program.
• NBRC registry exam must be passed within 6 months of hire date (6-month rule).
• Healthcare Provider Certification required.
• ACLS/PALS/NRP preferred.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential patient information.
• Basic computer skills and EMR proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Participate in bedside rounds and be a patient advocate.
• Collaborate with nurses, Advanced Respiratory Therapists, and Clinical Specialists to ensure patient care.
• Evaluate and treat patients with cardiopulmonary disorders using appropriate modalities.
• Support multiple hospital teams to enhance patient outcomes.
