Job summary

West Jefferson Medical Center, part of LCMC Health, is hiring a Respiratory Therapist to work night shifts in a high-acuity setting in Louisiana. You will manage ventilators, perform airway procedures, and deliver therapies, while educating patients and families for informed care.

The ideal candidate holds LA licensure as an RRT, NBRC registration, and BLS/CPR with ACLS and PALS certifications; NICU experience is preferred but training is offered.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) credential
• Current BLS/CPR (AHA) and ACLS
• PALS certification current
• NICU experience preferred but willingness to train

Responsibilities

• Manage ventilators and adjust settings per patient needs
• Perform arterial punctures and assist with airway management
• Support high-acuity events like Code III responses
• Assist with bronchoscopy and intubation procedures
• Deliver therapies (oxygen, aerosol, CPT, IPPB, incentive spirometry) and monitor equipment
• Educate patients and families to empower informed care
• Maintain infection control and safety standards
• Collaborate with care team to provide patient-first care
